Ruby Linder

June 8, 1942 — June 8, 2021

Fairfax

Visitation is Friday, June 11, in the afternoon 1 pm until 4pm

Ruby Linder, affectionately known as Geraldine, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday evening, June 8, 2021, after a brief battle with leukemia, surrounded by her loving family. She was exactly 78 years and 8 months of age. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in this struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

On Thursday, October 8, 1942, she became a part of this world born to William “Bill” and Ora May (Gann) Melton at their home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. As one of eight children, Geraldine’s siblings included five brothers and two sisters. In 1945, the family moved to the community of Fairfax Okla. She was educated in both the Grayhorse and Fairfax School Systems.

She married Charlie Linder and the couple was blessed with a son, Charles Michael Linder. They made their home in Arkansas until Charlie's passing.

After returning to her Fairfax roots in 2011, Geraldine faithfully attended the Full Gospel Assembly Church, Fairfax where she was a member. She was also able to assist her sister Betty with taking care of her brother-in-law, Frank Haines. Many days included spending time with her friends on Circle Drive, as well as Marty Haub, Debbie Looney, Shelia Buckner, and their families.

She leaves her cherished son and daughter in law, Charles Michael and Kerri Linder of Royse, Texas; one brother, Don Melton of California and one aunt, Willis Hood of Ponca City; dear nieces, Debbie (Darryl) Looney and Shelia Buckner of Fairfax; and one ‘special’ nephew Joe Bennett also of Fairfax; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, several extended relatives, and countless friends.

On Tuesday, she joined in heaven her husband Charlie, parents Bill and Ora; four brothers Charles Melton, Roy Melton, Floyd Melton, and Larry Melton; two sisters Jenny Blackburn, and Betty Haines.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 14 at the Full Gospel Assembly Church, 228 N Donelson, with Pastor Lewis Bernard officiating. Honorary pallbearers include Isaac Bernard, Joey Rogers, Luke Bernard, Darryl Looney, Joseph Buckner, Zak Buckner, Joe Bennett, Dwight Haub, and Bill Box.

Burial will follow later when Geraldine will be laid to rest next to her husband in the DeRoche Cemetery in Bismarck, Arkansas.  Arrangements are under the care of Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home, Fairfax. Online condolences and memories are welcomed at:  www.hunsakerwootenfuneralhome.com
