Cecilia Mayse

Cecilia S. Mayse was born on August 17, 1921 to Tom Steele and Lucy WalkingSky Steele.

She married and moved to Fairfax, OK and had two children, Cebrun Eugene Mayse and Lanelle Garrison, who both preceded her in death.  She moved to Lawton, OK and then moved home to Pawhuska, OK where she spent the remainder of her life.

She enjoyed her family, the Texas Rangers, and any type of sporting Event on TV. In her early adulthood she was an avid bowler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two children, sister LaVina Pepper and brother Jonas Steele.

“Aunt Sue” is survived by her two nieces, Cecilia Coble and Martha Spotted Bear and their respected families, nephew Bill Pepper and his family, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She will lie in state at Grayhorse Chapel in Grayhorse Community until Thursday, April 8, 2021. A Rosary will be held at 7pm on Thursday, April 8th, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfax, OK.  Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, April 9,2021 with Father Desmond Ibeneme presiding.  Graveside will follow at the Fairfax City Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jeremy Spotted Bear, Eugene Coble, Eric Coble, Johnny Coble, Robert Spotted Bear, and Cory Spotted Bear.  Honorary Pallbearers are John Coble, Tim Coble, Nick Coble, Chet Brake, Cole Brake, Aaron Brake, and Jasper Clark.
