Jon Hinman

Jon Lee Hinman, known as "Poncie", went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.

Jon was born on October 15, 1965 in Enid, Oklahoma to Sherman Wallace and Linda Kay Mashunkashey Hinman. He was raised by his great grandma Mabel Logan whom he loved with all his heart until October 5, 1989 when she went to be with the Lord.

A Traditional Native Service will be held at 8 a.m., Wednesday at the Wakon Iron Chapel with Junior Williams officiating. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019 also at the Wakon Iron Chapel with David Nagle and Rev. Scott Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pawhuska City Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax, Okla. Jon will be at the Wakon Iron Chapel Monday and Tuesday, March 4 & 5, 2019.

Jon attended schools in Ponca City, Hominy and Pawhuska, graduating from Pawhuska in May of 1983. He played baseball for the American Legion Post #198 where he was a pitcher. Jon loved playing football and baseball but he also enjoyed watching soccer, baseball, football, wrestling and PRCA & PBR Bull riding.

Jon married Kimberly Marie Pradmore on February 22, 1985. They resided in Pawhuska the remainder of his life. On June 19, 1989 they welcomed their only child, Kendall Marie Hinman and his life was changed forever or until May 4, 2007 when he became a Papa, Brooklyn Rose Hinman, was born and he loved her dearly. On April 2, 2018 they welcomed twin grandchildren, Keylee Margarite Lytle and Kyle Douglas Lytle. He was excited he finally had a boy around his little family and another grandson is due in May!

He was a proud member of the Osage Nation and the Ponca tribe and a faithful member of the OCIB Club.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kimberly; daughter Kendall; granddaughter Brooklyn and grandson Kyle. His mother, Linda Kay Hinman and his brother Arthur Potts. His mother-in-law that he loved as his mom, Cynthia Pradmore; two nephews, Dakota and Denver Potts; one niece, Avery Potts. Further survived by many other extended family of both his and Kim's.

He was preceded in death by his father Sherman Hinman; his grandmother, Mabel Logan; his sister Felica Rose Hinman and his granddaughter Keylee Lytle.
