Jimmie Don Brown, former resident of Fairfax, passed Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at his home in Kingston, Oklahoma. He was 79 years of age.

Jimmie was born November 1, 1934 in Fairfax, the son of Donald Buster Brown and Leona Hazen Brown. He was a 1954 graduate of Fairfax High School. He was married to Patsy Irene Neely on December 27, 1954 in Bartlesville. The couple lived in Fairfax and raised a son, J.D. and daughter, Debra. After brief stays in Marlow, Oklahoma and California, the couple moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1967. After 27 years in Edmond, the couple returned home to Fairfax in 1993. Mrs. Brown passed on March 9, 1999.

Jimmie was employed throughout the years as a petroleum engineer and in 1975 started his own business as a consultant in the oil and gas industry. He was a former member of the Oklahoma National Guard. His enjoyments included fishing for stripers, bird hunting, boating, running jug lines, anything to do with the outdoor life. His greatest joy in life was family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his two children, J.D. Jake Brown of Kingston, and Debra Hendricks and husband Paul, of Stillwater two grandchildren, Paul Wade and Heather Dawn four great grandchildren one brother, Tommy Brown and wife Jackie, of Tulsa numerous other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents his wife, and one sister, Linda Sue Sanders.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the New Hope Christian Fellowship, located at the corner of 5th and Mulberry in Fairfax. Jim Johnson of the Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater will be the presiding minister. Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.

Casket bearers are Paul Hendricks Jr., Chuck Neely, David Hazen, Charlie Epperson, Danny Epperson, Harry Myers.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Browns name to the Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C Street NW, Ardmore, Oklahoma 73401.
