Jamie Lytle

March 5, 1990 — October 1, 2019

Fairfax

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved brother, Jamie Lee Lytle, on Tuesday evening, October 1, 2019 at Fairfax.  Although only 29 at the time of his death, Jamie embraced life in his small hometown of Fairfax, Oklahoma.

He entered this world on Monday, March 05, 1990 in Stillwater, Oklahoma where proud parents Doug Lytle and Tonia Footracer brought him home to Fairfax.  At home, he was welcomed by big sister, Tasha and brother, Justin who first called him “Boo-boo.”  Boo-boo stuck and all the family called him by his new nickname for years while he was growing up.  He was raised in Fairfax and attended Woodland Public Schools, graduating high school in 2009.

On his paternal side, Jamie was the great-grandson of the late Ted and Juanita McKinney.  Juanita’s parents, Martin Gambler and Lillie (Proctor) Gambler were both of Muscogee (Creek) descent.  Jamie was proud to be a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.

From an early age, Jamie, like his dad Doug, was an avid OU sports enthusiast and became a lifelong fan of OU sports, especially football games. Go Boomer Sooners!   He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboy games.

While working for the Town of Fairfax, Jamie assisted with various jobs from reading water meters to mowing and upkeep of city properties.  Later, Jamie had worked in Ponca City as a journeyman in the Heat and Air Industry.

He enjoyed spending time with friends, and was a true friend to them all, ready and willing at a moment’s notice to do anything for them. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you saw a truly delightful, generous, easy-going, fun-loving guy. Most of all, family and friends will reminisce about his ever-present smile and recall the sheer pleasure of his company and how much they will miss him.

Jamie will be missed everyday by his loving siblings, sister, Tasha (Jason) Ware of Beggs, Okla.; brother, Justin Lytle of Pawhuska, Okla.; cherished grandparents, paternal Wanda (McKinney) Lytle and the late James Lytle, maternal, LeeAnna (Snubbs) Footracer; adored uncles and aunts, Brian (Sondra) Lytle, Brian Kanawite, Sheila Fine, and Holly Lytle; cousins, Hayley Harrison, Meagan and Madison Lytle; dear great uncles and aunts, Bill Lytle and Richard  McKinney all of Fairfax, Ted (Martha) McKinney of Vann, Texas;  Glenora Hutchens of Tomah, Wis., Paula Bowden of Rowlett, Texas; and little angels: Braylee, Parker, and Levi Ware; Kyle and Jon Lytle, and Harper Harrison.  As well as many other extended family members in the Fairfax area and life-long friends.

Jamie’s rescue dog and most faithful companion, “Charlie,” will also miss him.  When it came time to ‘chow down,’ Charlie always got fed first, regardless of the circumstances.

We know Jamie is now with his parents, Doug Lytle and Tonia (Footracer) Moody; grandfather, James Lytle; uncle, Michael Footracer; niece, Keylee Lytle and is loved here on earth as well as in heaven.

Please join us in remembering and honoring Jamie this Saturday, October 5, 2019.  Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., First Osage Baptist Church on Main Street in Fairfax with Bill Lytle presiding.  Burial will immediately follow at the Fairfax City Cemetery.  Arrangements by Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home.
