Danny Morrow

February 3, 1952 — April 28, 2020

Jenks

Danny Wayne Morrow, resident of Jenks, Oklahoma, shifted gears as he headed towards Heaven in the early morning, Tuesday, April 28, 2020, after battling cancer for the last few years. His loving wife Angie and daughter Reese were by his side before God called him home at the age of 68 years.

Danny was born in Newport, Arkansas on Sunday, February 3, 1952, to George Isaac and Mary Lou (Tracy) Morrow, the youngest of three children. Growing up in the countryside, he and his siblings were always into mischief. He attended public school there before going on to learn welding at the local welding school.

He later worked as a truck driver hauling oversize freight across country and throughout the years became known by his CB handle “boot scooter.” His love of dancing had earned him that title. He developed many close personal friendships from the oversize and trucking industry.  In 2012 he retired from the trucking profession to assist his wife with her business.

In 2002 Danny left Arkansas for his new home in Oklahoma. It was here in the Fall 2006 where he met and dated the love of his life, Angela Roberts.  The couple “tied the knot” on July 9, 2012, making their relationship official. They celebrated with a honeymoon in Corpus Christi, Texas.

When he married Angie, a member of the Osage Nation, he was first introduced to the Osage traditions and way of life.  He loved being a part of her Osage family.  Each year he awaited with anticipation for the In-Lon-Schka dances at Grayhorse which he wanted so much to participate. Danny attended church at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa before finding his home at North Star Church in Glenpool Oklahoma.

From an early age he was an avid outdoorsman, fishing and camping were among some of his favorite hobbies he enjoyed. Also gardening, mowing the yard (even in November when he got his newest mower), anything that included fresh air and sunshine as well as reading and watching westerns on TV; going dancing; and in later years he loved spending time with Angie and daughter, Reese. He and Reese frequently competed to see who could find the prettiest flower bouquet.

On an out-of-state vacation, a seagull slowly worked its way by Danny’s side to grab a piece of cheese he had cut up. One of the few examples of how animals and people alike gravitated to his loving, kind and sensitive side.

He was reunited in paradise with his infant son, Christopher Michael Morrow; his parents; his brother, Junior Isaac Morrow; and his treasured dog, Sandy.

Today he is survived by his wife, Angela “Angie” (Roberts) Morrow of the home; his daughter, Reese Hester Roberts of Jenks; his sister, Patricia Houston of Waldenburg, Arkansas; numerous extended family members including two sons, Daniel and Michael, and many friends.

Visitation will be held at the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Chapel of Fairfax, Oklahoma on Thursday afternoon, April 30 and Friday morning, May 1, from 10 am to 1 pm before Graveside Services.
