Clinton Eugene Carter was born October 3, 1936 in Chandler, Okla. the second son of Ralph Henry Carter and Gladys Carter-Waller. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1954. He attended classes at Northern Oklahoma College, Oklahoma State University and completed his formal education at Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Education Specialist degrees.

He enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard – 45th Division in 1955, proudly served his country for eight years before he was honorably discharged.

On June 10, 1960, Clinton and Beverly (Hendrix) Carter were joined in marriage. He shared 61 wonderful years together with his lifelong partner and wife, Beverly, and they were blessed to raise three children Clinton, Karen, and Sharon.

Clinton owned his autobody shop for several years in Fairfax and Ponca City. Then moved with his family to Pittsburg, Kan. in 1978 where he joined the faculty at Pittsburg State University. He worked as a Full Professor in the Automotive Technology program and loved the campus life at PSU. He was very proud to be a PSU Gorilla and was actually disappointed when it was time to retire at the age of 70 years old after teaching for 29 years.

As a child he attended the Nazarene Church in Chandler and in later years enjoyed attending the College Heights United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, Kan. with wife Beverly. Spending time with family was also at the top of his enjoyments. He had countless hobbies which included: repairing and rebuilding wrecked cars, photography, gardening, woodworking, and metal working. In his spare time, he could be found watching western movies, going for coffee with friends, and most of all, traveling with Beverly and their dog Koby in their motorhomes.

Clinton leaves behind his wife Beverly of the home in Wichita, Kan.; their three children Clinton (Radha) Carter, Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas, Karen (Brian) Foredyce of Bennett, Colo., and Sharon Wisner of Wichita, Kan.; their grandchildren Benjamin Foredyce, Samuel Foredyce, Kimberly (Tommy) Andersen, Clinton Rao Carter, Alyssa Wisner, and Andrew Wisner; one great grandson Jaxon Simanowitz.

He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Carter, his mother Gladys Carter-Waller, his stepfather Milton Waller, and his brother James Carter.
