Memorial Service 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Fairfax First Christian Church.

Charlotte Ann Rodgers Balduff was born November 15, 1932 in Schulter, Oklahoma to James H. Monk Rodgers and Bernice Marie Hawk Rodgers.

The family moved to Fairfax in 1934. Charlotte attended grade school and high school in Fairfax and graduated from Fairfax High School a proud Red Devil in 1951.

After high school, she enrolled in nursing school at St. Josephs in Ponca City. She graduated with her R.N. degree in 1954.

While attending nursing school, she met a handsome, slightly wild young man named Sonny Balduff. It was love at first sight for both of them. After a long engagement of three months, the couple was married on June 15, 1954 at the First Christian Church in Fairfax.

The young couple moved frequently while Sonny was in the Navy. They moved from Oklahoma to Florida, California, Maryland, and finally back to Oklahoma. Charlotte and Sonny were blessed with five children.

Charlotte was born to be a nurse. She was compassionate and caring, and loved her profession. She worked in many areas during her fiftyyear career, but labor and delivery was her favorite. She loved helping to bring new lives into the world. After retiring from nursing, she was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, serving many years as the treasurer. She also helped care for the elderly with the Advantage program. She loved taking care of others.

She was a funny and fun loving person. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, traveling, playing cards with Betty and Barb. She loved her church family and enjoyed reading her Bible daily. She was also an avid OU football fanBOOMER SOONER

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Sonny her parents, Monk and Bernice Rodgers her brother, Tommy Rodgers a sisterinlaw, Betty Parent two brothersinlaw, Fred Balduff and William Balduff.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Burton of the home and Lisa Silvy and husband, John, of Shawnee three sons, Jim Balduff and wife, Anita, of Memphis, Indiana, Mike Balduff and wife, Michele, of North Aurora, Illinois, and Rick Balduff and wife, Stephanie, of Island Lake, Illinois seven grandchildren, Steve Burton, Jamie Hampton and husband, Craig, Courtney Burton, Shawn Balduff, Amanda Silvy, Aaron Balduff and Shelby Balduff one great granddaughter, Alexis Burton five sistersinlaw, Phyllis Rodgers, Leanna Diamond, Neva Balduff, Marilyn Balduff and Boe Landfield and husband, Dick. She is also survived by her lifelong best friends of seventyfive years, Betty Vaught and Barbara Myers.

Charlotte loved and was loved by many. Anyone who was so greatly loved is never truly gone.

Honorary casket bearers are Dr. James Graham, Dr. Shea DeFehr, grandsons Stephen Burton, Shawn Balduff, Aaron Balduff, John Silvy and Craig Hampton.
