Audre Seabridge

October 23, 1937 — March 21, 2021

Audre Mae Seabridge was born on October 23, 1937, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Ernest and Eudean Trumbly Seabridge.  A small graveside service is scheduled for Friday, March 26, at 10:00 AM in the Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax,  Oklahoma.

She grew up in the Burbank, and Ponca City, OK  area.  Audre attended Elementary School in  Burbank, Junior High and High School in Ponca City, OK.  She graduated in May 1955 and began college at Oklahoma State University that summer.  In college she was very active in Women's Athletics. During the summer she worked as a counselor at Camp Waldemar for Girls in Hunt, TX.  In 1959 she graduated with a BS Degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation with a second teaching field in Biology. After graduation from University she received a Teaching Assistantship at Western State College in Gunnison, CO.  A second advanced degree was completed then with a MA in Education with certification in Guidance and Counseling as a secondary field along with Physical Education.  She began teaching full time in 1962.  For 25 years she was a professor in Health and Physical Education at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX retiring in 1994.

Audre enjoyed spending summers in the mountains of Colorado.  She enjoyed traveling around in her motor home.  In her younger days she loved horse back riding.

She is survived by her nephew Dirk and  wife Kathie Seabridge, niece, Lisa Seabridge, Great nephews, Sean(John) Barker-Seabridge and Scott (Brittany)Seabridge, her sister-in law Barbara Seabridge and cousin Tony (Pam) Trumbly.

Audre was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Douglas Seabridge  and her companion Harriet Ketchum.
