Zoe Alice Parker passed away on March 20, 2106, at the age of 96, at her home in Fairfax surrounded by her loving family. Zoe was the fifth child born to James M. Robinson and Xoe Cecilia Schweickhardt Robinson.
She was born in Fairfax, OK and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1938. She attended Central State University in Edmond, OK for a time prior to the death of her father. With only three brief exceptions, she lived her entire life in Fairfax. On September 12, 1941 she married Bob Parker Jr. Ever after she claimed 12 as her lucky number.
Zoe was a devoted wife and mother and a much loved grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of the Catholic Church at Sacred Heart Parish in Fairfax as was her family before her. She dedicated her life to the care of her husband and children. She was an excellent cook, an artist and skilled calligrapher. She was blessed by a large circle of caring friends throughout her life. The love and gratitude we all feel for our families and friends can never be suitable expressed.
Zoe is survived by her only daughter, Dottie Zoe (Parker) Hensley and her husband of 51 years, Charles Dwain Hensley; her three sons; James Robert (Jim Bob) Parker and his wife of 40 years, Joyce Sigmund Parker; Charles Patrick (Sandy) Parker and his wife of 37 years Stefanie Barnett Parker and Thomas Lee Parker and his wife of 31 years Lee Ann Dickey Parker. She had numerous grandchildren including Amelia Zoe (Hensley) Nichols and her husband John; Jennifer Lou Hensley; Charles Robert Hensley and his wife Jennifer; James Ordway Hensley and his wife Bonnie; Robert Thomas Parker and wife Meagan; Christina Parker Dunn and husband Tom; Matthew Barnett Parker and Mason Benjamin Parker. Sally Parker Kernke and husband Todd; Logan Parker and wife Lauren, and Libby Parker, numerous nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob at the age of 76. Also preceding her in death are a beloved grandson, Benjamin Patrick Parker at the age of 5; her mother and father; her sisters, Mae, Kathryn and Dorothy and a brother Jack.
A rosary for the repose of her soul will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 333 S. eight St. Fairfax, OK. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 :00 p.m.
On Wednesday, March 23, 2016 also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfax. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairfax Cemetery
