Tommie Caldwell

Tommie Michael Caldwell peacefully departed this life on November 22, 2016 at his home in Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by loved ones.

Tommie Michael was born June 11, 1952 in Chandler, Oklahoma to parents Robert & Darlene (Booker) Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert Harold Caldwell and a daughter Tyenikia Marie Caldwell.

Tommie Michael accepted Christ into his life at an early age and attended Lane Chapel CME Church in his youth. He was raised in the Sweethome Community and was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Wellston High School. Tommie Michael was such a talented artist that he designed the cover for the 1970 yearbook.

Tommie Michael joined the U.S. Navy in 1972 and moved to Washington D.C. He married Doris Ann Deselle and together they had two daughters, Mequeal and Tyenikia. In 1981 he returned home to Oklahoma and began his career with General Motors.

In 1995 he married Denise Williams and in 2006 they moved to Kansas City where he retired from General Motors in 2009 after 28½ years.

Tommie Michael loved life and lived it to its fullest. He loved to travel and loved music. He was a role model and mentor to and for his nephews and grandsons. He had countless friends and shared a special bond of brotherhood with Larry Ealom and John Desselle. He also found a second mother and family in Alma Ealom and the Ealom family.

Tommie Michael leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Denise Caldwell of the home, his daughter Mequeal Caldwell, Edmond, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Dequan and Dejion Cooper and Taylen Walker all of Edmond, Oklahoma; three siblings Francis Franks (Jonathon) Spencer, Oklahoma, Nora Sneed (Roy) Spencer, Oklahoma and Robert Mitchell Caldwell (Kennetha) Edmond, Oklahoma; two aunts Anna Lee Heath (Jim) Edmond, Oklahoma and Bernice Richardson Detroit, Michigan, a great aunt Geraldine Tillis Chandler, Oklahoma; a god son Tommie Franklin (Heather) Wellston, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Sweet Home Baptist Church in Fairfax, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home.

Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. Friends may leave online condolences at www.hunsakerwootenfuneralhome.com.
