Sandra Anita Jamison, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Hominy, Oklahoma, on July 14, 2025, after a courageous health battle.

Born on August 15, 1948, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Sidney Eugene and Margaret Louise (Davis) Jamison. Sandra’s early life was shaped by love and resilience. Sandra was a proud enrolled member of the Osage Nation. Her Osage heritage came from her mother’s side, she was the granddaughter of the late Edna Davis. After the passing of her father shortly after her birth, her mother married Jack Lee Barker in 1952. Jack embraced Sandra and her older brother Sidney as his own.

In 1967, Sandra moved to Southern California, where she worked for Jet Propulsion Laboratories and General Dynamics. In 1995, she relocated to Albuquerque where her mother joined her in September of 1996. While in Albuquerque, Sandra was the executive assistant for the Governor of the Sandia Pueblo tribe. In 1998, Sandra and her mother moved to South Pasadena, CA. Upon her mother’s passing in December 1999 Sandra returned to Albuquerque and eventually she settled in Hominy

After retirement Sandra trained and ran several marathons to raise money and awareness for the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation. Later Sandra used her business skills to assist in the Osage Ballet, dedicated in helping in its success.

Sandra is survived by her brother, Jack L. Barker Jr.(Cindy) of Centennial, CO, and several nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, her brother Sidney E. Jamison-Barker, and her infant sister, Maria Elizabeth Jamison.

In honoring Sandra’s wishes, her family has chosen to celebrate her life privately, without a formal service. She will be interred at the Fairfax City Cemetery under the care of the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.hunsakerwootenfuneralhome.com

Sandra’s spirit and kindness will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
