Robert Dale
Price
July 1, 1959 – June 7, 2026
Robert Dale Price was born July 1, 1959, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and passed away at his home in Fairfax on June 7, 2026. His family first moved to Arkansas City, Kansas, where he started school, and later settled in Newkirk, where he continued his education. As a child, Dale spent summers with our grandmother, Memory Price of Ralston, and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Ralston. Throughout his life, he worked for a farmer near Ralston, on oil rigs across northern Oklahoma in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and as a heavy equipment operator for a construction company involved in building the Arkansas City bypass. He later returned to farm work in the Ralston area, a job he greatly enjoyed, before opening a mechanic shop in Fairfax. He worked there until cancer forced him to stop.
He enjoyed music, old television shows, and caring for cats. He faithfully fed the stray cats around his trailer and often made trips to Dollar General for cat food, sometimes caring for 10 or more at a time.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Catherine Price. He is survived by many friends and cousins in Oklahoma and Iowa.
The family thanks Dale’s friends and the doctors and staff at the Rural Health Clinic in the Newkirk-Ralston area for their support during his illness. We also thank the many professionals at Stephenson Cancer Center for the care they provided.
Memorial donations may be made to the Riverside Cemetery Association, in care of James Cowan, 351450 Hwy 18, Ralston, OK, or to a charity of your choice.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 1, 2026, at Riverside Cemetery, North 3520 Road, Ralston, OK.
