Marvin Creamy Lunsford, resident of Fairfax passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at his home. He was 75. Marvin was born the son of Charlie Lunsford and Susie Bigpond Lunsford on August 2, 1933 at his home in Bristow, Oklahoma. He grew up in various Indian boarding schools in Oklahoma. He graduated from Chilocco Indian School in Chilocco, Oklahoma. After finishing school, he married Mildred Bear on March 18, 1953 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to this union 6 children were born. He enlisted in the United States Army on the 23rd day of April in 1953. He was a paratrooper in the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team during the Korean Conflict. He served his country until his honorable discharge in May of 1961. Marvin was a house painter and metal finisher. He was employed with Adams and Campbell Co. in California, and retired after 43 years. During this 43 years, he never missed a day of work. He liked working outside, cutting wood, mowing, fixing fences and hunting when time allowed. He also enjoyed attending Chilocco School and veteran reunions. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Midge of the home; children, Cidney Bledsoe and husband, Bob, Jeffrey Lunsford, Helen Brumley, Teddy Lunsford, Jonathan Pete Lunsford and wife,Wanita; sisters, Frances Bunny and husband, Newman, Esterlene Smallwood and husband Bob and Wanda Johnson and husband, Andrew; grandchildren, Jonathan Lunsford, Anna Lunsford, Hawk Bledsoe and Raven Brumley; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Lunsford, Curtis Lunsford, Bill Lunsford and Calvin Lunsford; one daughter, Tracy Lunsford; and son-in-law, Ron Brumley. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home with Reverend James Anderson officiating. A lunch will be held following the service at the Osage Nation Fairfax Language Center, 260 North Second St.
