Marsha Taylor, lifelong resident of Fairfax, Oklahoma passed suddenly on Saturday February 7, 2026 at Integris Health Hospital in Ponca City with family by her side. At age 77 years 11 months and 14 days her passing came just a few weeks shy of her 78th birthday.

On February 24, 1948 Marsha Ann Tolliver Nelson was born to proud parents Billy J. Tolliver and Martha Marie “Toy” Miller Tolliver Nelson in Garden Springs, Kansas. Three months later her father Billy passed. Marsha was a baby boomer, her parents’ only child, and from Cherokee decent.

She grew up attending the Fairfax Public School system, graduating as a member of the 1966 Red Devil Class. After graduation she attended Darughan’s School of Business in Tulsa.

Marsha married James Leon “Big Jimmer” Brien and to this union the couple was blessed with two children, Candace “Candi” May 1974 and Terry J. “TJ” May 1978. Later she married Robert Taylor for a time.

She was employed as a cook at the Fairfax Manor Nursing Home when she retired. Previously having worked at the Manor in multiple other positions including housekeeping and social activities. She was a resolute employee and spent over two decades at the Manor caring for numerous individuals from Fairfax and other nearby towns.

Marsha, an avid OU fan, enjoyed her diet coke, and had the Heart of an Angel. As a devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to her children. Beyond her own children, she found immeasurable joy in the company of her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, bringing delight to her days and filling her heart with love. And as life blessed her further, she welcomed great-grandchildren, who occupied the top place in her heart, symbolizing the continuity of love across generations.

Marsha’s memories will continue to live on with her daughter Candi Brien; her grandchildren Mason and wife Casey Tallchief, Andrew Tyler, McKena Brien, Terry J. Brien II, and Tobi Brien; her great-grandchildren Creed Tallchief, and Emri Tallchief; her four legged companion Milly May; plus cousins, other relatives, and many friends from the Fairfax community including a lifetime friendship with Martie Crowder and her husband John.

Preceding her in death were her dear parents Billy (1948) and Toy (2000), beloved son Terry J. Brien ( 2021), cherished grandson Jared Webb Brien-Summy (2000), her stepfather Wayne Nelson (1968), and two former husbands.
