Leon L. Roberson, longtime resident the Fairfax, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Fairfax Manor Nursing Home. He was 86 years of age.

Leon was born January 27, 1926 in the Sunny Slope community near Ralston, the son of William B. Roberson and Ida Mae Hull Roberson. He attended school at Ralston. Leon served his country in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was married to Verna Gladys Harris and later married to Patsy L. Failing. Leon was a well known electrician and rancher in the Fairfax and Ralston communities and was a member of the Fairfax First Christian Church. His enjoyments included his cattle, miniature donkeys and his various pet dogs.

He is survived by his daughter Jan Zachary and husband, James, of Fairfax and stepdaughter Janet Sue Willaford of Bartlesville two grandchildren, Lisa Hughes and Sam Shell four stepgrandchildren, Nikki Harrald, Misty Rett, Joshua Willaford and Michael Willaford nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents two wives six siblings, Ernest Roberson, George Roberson, Myrtle Richards, Dell Mayer, Blanche Bear and Mae Ponca.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Fairfax Cemetery with Rev. Ty Curry and Rev. George Weston presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

Honorary casket bearers are Sam Shell, Noah Shell, Dax Hughes, Cael Hughes, Roy Lee Armstrong, George Neff, John A. Long and Roger Welch.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairfax Senior Citizens Center, 74 County Road 6300, Fairfax, Oklahoma 74637.
