Larry Eugene
Hockman
Jan 16, 1944 — Sep 12, 2026
Larry Eugene Hockman, former Fairfax Oklahoma resident, passed peacefully on Saturday September 12, 2026, at his son’s home in Cedar Vale Kansas. He entered this world on January 16, 1944, in Ponca City Oklahoma. Born to proud parents Eugene Debs Hockman and Irene Mildred (Reimer) Hockman.
Larry attended school and lived most of his life in Osage and Kay counties. Once out of school, Larry joined the Army for a brief time before being honorably discharged in January 1968. He married Joyce Cline and they had two children, first son Tony followed by daughter Terrie. Larry loved his children and grandkids.
He worked on pipelines and the oil fields for years before he took a job with the City of Hominy at the cemetery. After being forced to retire, he spent his time helping others in any way he could. He hauled scrap metal and became an avid collector (of junk). He was an active member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Fairfax. Larry remained active all his life and would lend a hand to anybody for a tall glass of sweet tea or a slice of pie.
He is survived by his son Tony Hockman and girlfriend Misty Stone and her son Kohle of Cedar Vale. His daughter Terrie Hockman and boyfriend Jerry Shafer of Ponca City. Two grandchildren, Jaden Hollis of Newkirk and Chelsea and her husband Keenan Fortney of Yukon and their two children Korra and Kovely. A sister Joyce Ray of Ponca City and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Irene and a brother Bobby Doyal.
