Carolyn Kay Katy Shoptaw, longtime resident of Fairfax, passed Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Fairfax Nursing Home. She was 73 years of age.

Katy was born August 9, 1940 in Fairfax, the daughter of Fred Herbert Stoneman and Mildred Eloise Gamble Stoneman. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1959. She married Dale Shoptaw on May 16, 1958 in Fairfax. The couple divorced in 1974.

She had been employed throughout the years at the Fairfax Elevator, Osage County Assessors, MF Furniture and the Fairfax Police Department. She was a member of the First Osage Baptist Church. Her enjoyments were camping, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie Shoptaw and wife Sandy, of Richmond, Texas, and Lita Kelley and husband, Floyd II, of Ralston 3 grandchildren, Robyn Moncrief and husband Ian, Brady Kelley, and Ryan Shoptaw many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents one sister, Ola Jean Fuller two brothers, Billy and Fred Earl Stoneman one nephew, Robert Wayne Fuller.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the First Osage Baptist Church in Fairfax, with Rev. George Weston presiding. Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.

Casket bearers are Brady Kelley, Ryan Shoptaw, Ian Moncrief, Cody Gray, Quentin Gray and Scott Stoneman.

Memorial contributions may be made in Katys name to the First Osage Baptist Church, 236 South Main Street, Fairfax, Oklahoma 74637 or to O.N.H.L. 124 East Broadway, Drumright, Oklahoma 74030.
