Jean Eris Noble, 82, of Ponca City, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2011 at the Ponca City Medical Center.

Jean was the only child born to Alva Austin and Laura Opal BarberNoble on April 18, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas. Her early years were spent in Fairfax, where she graduated Fairfax High School in 1947. She then attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She accepted a teaching position at Guthrie High School as a drama and speech teacher and later worked for Telex in Tulsa. She was also a broker in her later years. Jean was Presbyterian by faith, and was involved in the Ponca City Humane Society.

Jean was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents. She is survived by her cousin, Mrs. Billie McGee, and Mrs. McGees children Cindy McGee of Blackwell, Matt McGee of Ponca City, and Mrs. Robbie Ann McGeeEllison of Jackson, MS.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Fairfax Cemetery, with Rev. Richard Ayers officiating.

Services are under the direction of HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
