Janette G. Ellison of Fairfax, Oklahoma, was born on June 27, 1951, to J. G. and J. O. Hundley. They took her home on May 16, 2026, at 74 years old in Fairfax, Oklahoma. She went to Grayhorse school until they closed when she was in 6th grade. Then she went to Fairfax school, where she graduated in 1969. Shortly after graduating high school, she attended nursing school in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She graduated and officially became a nurse in 1970, where she pursued her nursing career for 44 years. In the midst of those years, she had her first date with Lue Ellison that lasted forever. They went to Ken’s Pizza, in Tulsa, on Valentine’s Day in 1973. Nine short months later, on November 2, they got married. A little over two years later they welcomed lovely twin daughters, Sonya and Tonya, in December of 1975. She loved being a mom and stayed home for 3 years after they were born. She returned to nursing and worked side by side with Dr. Rick Crenshaw at Robert Clark Family Health Center until she retired in 2014. Her famous line afterwards was, “I had to retire, I was not training another doctor’ followed by her contagious laugh. You could hear her laugh anywhere she was, especially in her church. She was dedicated to New Hope Christian Fellowship Church and served on the worship team for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Lue Ellison; daughters Sonya (Nic) Shull, Tonya Ellison, Renita Ellison (Rob); sisters JoAnn Ferguson, Jeanne (Waymond) White, Jerry Sue (Jim) Spruill; grandchildren, Blaine (Laura) Cash, Colten Ellison, Dalton (Taylor) Hahn, Alex (Emma) Wofford, Samantha Hahn; 7 great grandchildren and multiple extended family.
