James Roberts Jr.

James Chakah Roberts Jr., resident of Hominy, passed Friday, May 22, 2015 in Bartlesville.
He was 65 years of age. He was a member of both the Osage and Pawnee Tribes.

James was born December 28, 1949 in Pawnee, Oklahoma the son of James Chakah Roberts Sr. and Anna Katherine Good Roberts. He attended high school in Anadarko, college at Central State College and also had a basketball scholarship to Oklahoma City University. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying basketball, golf, football, playing billiards and reading. He believed in the traditional family ways and his family, especially his grandchildren were very special to him.

He is survived by his three children, Angela Kay Roberts Morrow and husband Danny, of Tulsa, Terry Russell Roberts and wife Rachel, of Bartlesville and Lucien James Johnson of Bartlesville; one brother, Richard Roberts of Tulsa; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Katherine Ann Roberts Jake and Amanda Kay Roberts White.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday evening, May 25, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfax. A family service will be held at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 also at the church with the funeral mass to follow at 10 a.m... Father Bruce Brosnahan will serve as officiant. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
