Guy F. Schlosser Guy F. Schlosser, longtime resident of Shidler, Oklahoma went to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 22, 2009. He was 97. Guy was born on January 10, 1912 the son of Charles Alonzo Schlosser and Ellen Elizabeth Muirhead Schlosser in Crawford County, Robinson, Illinois. On June 27, 1930, Guy married the love of his life, Beulah Juanita Wall in Rockford, Indiana, and to this union four children were born. Guy farmed and raised cattle until 1940 when he began working for Kewanee Oil. On December 6, 1954, Guy and Beulah were transferred to Shidler. In 1977, after spending 37 years as a pumper, Guy retired with Kewanee Oil. Guy was a member of The Evangelical United Brethren Church, and was currently attending the First Christian Church of Shidler. Guy was a 55 year member of the Masonic Robinson Lodge No. 250. Guy enjoyed tending to his livestock, playing cards with longtime friends and growing flowers. Guy was deeply loved by his family. His sweet smile and bigger than life personality will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughters, Ellen Jeanine McCleary of Columbus, Ohio and Ruth Elaine Woods and her husband, Darrell Woods of Sand Springs; son-in-law Harlen Mitchell of Toledo, Ohio; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Alonzo and Ellen Elizabeth Schlosser; loving wife, Beulah of 67 years; infant son Dean; daughter Wilma Louise Mitchell and grandson Brad Garrard. Honorary pall bearers will be Tom Head, Charlie Johnston, Marien Johnston, DeWight Bruner and Gene Bowhay. Guy will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, Oklahoma with The Rev. Doug Scott, First Christian Church of Shidler, officiating. Visitation will be held at Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Schlosser will then be taken to the First Christian Church of Shidler for viewing on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Christian Church of Shidler, 600 South Cosden Ave., Shidler, Oklahoma 74652 or to the Shidler Ambulance Fund.
