Evelyn Mcinturf

d. December 27, 2012

Heaven became a little brighter when Evelyn McInturf, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin went to meet Jesus, surrounded by all of her loving family.

Evelyn passed through those gates of pearl Thursday, December 27, 2012, following a long battle with her health. She was 75.

A service will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Full Gospel Assembly, 667 West Mulberry Ave., Fairfax, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lewis Bernard officiating. Burial will be at Fairfax Cemetery.

Evelyn was born September 16, 1937 in Booneville, Arkansas, but moved to Fairfax at a young age. She was the daughter of Phil and Elewe Wilson Crenshaw, both deceased.

On September 10, 1955, she and Willie McInturf were married in Pawhuska, but established their home in Fairfax. They were married 57 years, and to this union they were blessed with three children, Stan McInturf and Julie of Denver, Colorado, David McInturf and wife, Stephanie, and Kelli and her husband, David Mallow of Fairfax eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Evelyn was the middle sibling, leaving behind Jack Crenshaw of Fairfax, Lorene Wilson of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Ebbie Yandell and her husband, Delmar, of Kaw City, Oklahoma, Bill Crenshaw and his wife, Betty of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Earnestene Chaney and her husband, Terry, of Burbank, Oklahoma, and Chris Hensley and her husband, Felix, of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Evelyn started in the food service business as a young waitress, and later she and Willie were lifelong partners, first at Tastee Freeze, and later the well known Willies. Evelyn worked until the bad health of both resulted in closing their store.

Evelyn loved gospel music and loved to sing. She, Willie, and other family members began a gospel group known as Fairfax Gospel Travelers, and traveled many miles, spreading the gospel through music and songs. She loved to attend any gospel singing as well.

Evelyn was blessed with a unique ability, ministering and talking to those with troubles. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and was a second mother to many.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, brotherinlaw, Earl Wilson, sisterinlaw, Norma Crenshaw, and two grandchildren, Stephen and Cynthia McInturf.

Casket bearers are Bobby Calhoun, Ryan Hensley, Tim Yandell, Dr. Rick Crenshaw, Eddie Brown, and Rodne Crenshaw.

Services are under the direction of HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
