Elsie Bonner

August 17, 1926 — December 3, 2015

Elsie "Auntie" Louama (Weaver) Bonner, 89, devoted wife, beloved aunt, good and faithful servant transitioned from Earth to Heaven on December 3, 2015 at the Home Away From Home care facility in Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by family as she reached her lifelong goal of "Going Home".

Elsie was born August 17, 1926 in Sugar Grove, Arkansas, to George Richard and Ida Ann Rankins Weaver. She was the 10th of 14 children and the last to survive. She married Lester Samuel Bonner on July 26, 1941 in Blue Mountain, Arkansas. They celebrated 55 years of marriage before Mr. Bonner passed on July 14, 1997.

Elsie was a devoted wife who enjoyed cooking, quilting, and spending time with her family. She particularly enjoyed making pot holders which she loved to share with family and friends and which will last for generations to come. She was the ultimate caregiver having cared for her mother Ida and brother Arthur (Nubbin) in her home for many years until their passing. She was a devoted Christian of the Pentecostal faith lastly attending First Assembly of God in Newkirk, Oklahoma, before illness forced her move to Wichita, Kansas to be under the constant and devoted care of her surrogate son (great nephew) Clay Houston.

She leaves to treasure her memory her 4 double nieces, Martha McKinney of Van, TX, Bonnie Houston of Newkirk, OK, Ellie Cavett of Ponca City, OK, and Minnie Moore of Burbank, OK. Also many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Harold, Earl, Irvin, Bart, Bill, Ray, O'dell, and Arthur, sisters Jewell Gregory, Stella Weaver, Ella Robertson, Agnes Bonner, and Mary Lou Weldon. Also 3 double nephews George, Bill, and Jimmy Bonner.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home, 201 North 4th Street, Fairfax, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Fairfax City Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Chase Johnston, Shea Johnston, Michael Moffett, Jerry Moore, Dustin Moore and Wayne Lindsey. Honorary casket bearers are Sean McKinney, Chad McKinney, Terry Moore, Tyler Cavett, John David Weaver, Johnny Robertson, Ted McKinney and Gary Moore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, 424 S. Main St., Newkirk, OK 74647 for a memory garden fund.
