pDonald was born March 30, 1928 in Preston, Oklahoma, the son of Clyde Cecil Tucker and Mildred Elizabeth Britton Tucker. He attended and graduated high school in Billings, Oklahoma.nbspp
pDonald worked for various companies in the oil industry from 1946 until he retired in 1960 from Phillips Petroleum. His last position was that of office clerk. He traveled extensively during his working years, visiting Louisiana, Alaska and Honduras, among other places. At one time, he worked as an oil company diver on the gulf coast.nbspp
pAfter retirement, Donald bought a home in Fairfax, where he lived until he became very sick and contracted frostbite in his feet in February of 2011. Thanks to Dr. James Graham and the nursing staff at Fairfax Community Hospital and Fairfax Manor, both his feet and life were saved. Nearly blind upon arrival, Donald received cataract surgery while at the manor, which allowed him to see again and interact with those around him. He appreciated all those who helped him.p
pnbspDonald was a very courteous, polite but private man who enjoyed his solitude. He spent many hours tending the rose garden in his front yard, and at Fairfax Manor a rose bush was planted just outside his window so he could see it. Donald was very fond of his tiny white Chihuahua, Noname. He took immense joy in watching her playful antics and holding her in his lap. Noname was unable to live with Donald at Fairfax Manor, so she was taken in by special friends, Burley and Nadine Hathcoat. Burley brought Noname to Fairfax Manor for frequent visits with Donald, whom she would run straight to upon arrival. Donald also enjoyed the company of Tom, a black cat who came to live at the manor and took up residence in Donaldrsquos room.p
pnbspDonald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his special friend, Burley Hathcoat, with whom Donald enjoyed many visits and car rides. Donald was a soft spoken, gentle soul who will be greatly missed by his community.p
pnbspA memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Fairfax Manor in Fairfax, Oklahoma. Pastor Ty Curry will officiate. His online guestbook may be signed at http:www.hunsakerwooten.com.p
