Cleo Lavina Garrett Adams

Cleo Lavina Garrett Adams, resident of Havana, Kansas and former resident of the Pawhuska and Fairfax communities, passed Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Coffeyville, Kansas Regional Medical Center. She was 88 years of age.

Cleo was born March 30, 1927 in Sparks, Oklahoma, the daughter of Curtis Henry Ham and Lula Belle (Lindsay) Ham. She received her early education in the Chandler, Oklahoma Lincoln County schools and then the Ralston schools. She was married to Irvin B. Garrett on March 17, 1945. The couple had lived in Pawhuska prior to moving to Fairfax. Mr. Garrett passed away on July 22, 1980. Cleo then married Bill Adams.

Her enjoyments were being around her grandkids, fishing, music, needle point, quilting and always helping others.

She is survived by her four daughters, Joan Barker and husband Jack, of Pawhuska, Sandy Broyles and husband Dennis, of Greenfield, Wisconsin, Irvaleen Gartrell and husband Ken, of Havana, Kansas and Kathleen Briggs and husband Lee, of Foraker; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one step-son; four sisters, four brothers; one infant brother; and her beloved poodle dog "Curley".

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home with Rev. George Weston presiding. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Ken Wells, Luke Wells, Naman Lee, Ky Lee, Lane Frost and Shane Lyons. Honorary casket bearers are Ken Gartrell, Lee Briggs, Jack Barker, Dennis Broyles, Chuck Drummond, Patrick Lyons, Todd Frost, Gary Garrett, Gene Ham, Kyle Gartrell, Kort Gartrell and Sam Barker.

Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of choice, in care of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home, 201 North 4th Street, Fairfax, Oklahoma 74637.
