Charles was born on October 4, 1934 to Edward and Annie (Kesner) Batschelett. Charles and his sisters grew up on the family farm and it was always an important part of his life.

He graduated from Fairfax High School and soon moved to Borger Texas to work for Phillips Oil Company. His three children Greg, Valorie and Michelle were born in Borger during this time.

Charles was very involved in his church and community. He served as a board member of the Fairfax Hospital and was a part of raising funds for the new wing. He was a member of the corvette club & classic car club of Ponca City and he also enjoyed drag racing events.

In his later years, his greatest love was being at the farm with his children and grandchildren riding four wheelers and throwing walnuts on top of the shed. He always shared his love of the farm with them.
