Carolynn Louise Morrill, age 75, retired Fairfax, Oklahoma resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Rural Wellness Fairfax Hospital.
She was born Carolynn Louise Mayo, the 3rd child of six children to Roscoe Preston and Welna Faye (Scott) Mayo in Pawhuska, Okla. on February 26, 1950.
Carolynn was raised in Fairfax and attended Fairfax Schools where she enjoyed participating in the Glee Club and was a proud Red Devil. Later, earning her GED.
She worked at Wal Mart as a cashier in Denver, Colorado. While in Denver, Carolynn met and married the love of her life, Dan Morrill. She welcomed Dan’s daughter- Shari Morrill into her life as well at this time.
The couple relocated to Salina, Kansas where Carolynn continued her career at Wal Mart, retiring after 14 years total with the company.
Her favorite pastimes included reading, visiting, playing games on her phone, and eating. She loved baking for her family and had the best homemade-from-scratch devils' food chocolate cake with mocha icing. Cooking in the kitchen was always her forte!
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren; her mother Welna Mayo of Fairfax; her sister of the home Betty McWilliams; her niece Linda Wilson of the home, also Linda’s daughter Shelby Nutt of the home; plus, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Roscoe Mayo; two brothers Billy Mayo and Kenneth Mayo; two sisters Faye Porter and Juanita Victory.
The family has chosen cremation under the care of Hunsaker Wooten at this time there are no services planned.
