Betty Stone

August 9, 1922 — July 7, 2015

Betty Milhorn Stone passed on July 7, 2015 at Fairfax Manor in Fairfax, Oklahoma. She was born August 9, 1922 in Cushing, Oklahoma, the daughter of Eula (Leverett) Millhorn and William (Chick) Millhorn.

Her father was killed in a refinery explosion in 1925. She had one brother, Chester Millhorn, Jr. In 1929, her mother moved them to Purcell, Oklahoma. Betty went to school there until 1939, when her mother died. Betty then moved back to Cushing and finished her last two years of school. In 1941, she married Harvey (Sundown) Stone and they had two sons, Patrick and Michael Stone.

Betty was a member of the First Christian Church in Purcell and the Moose Lodge in Ponca City. In 1963, she owned and operated Sundown's BBQ. She sold it in 2001 due to her arthritis.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Stone and wife, Judy, of Cashion, Oklahoma and Patrick Stone and wife, Mary, of Fairfax, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Wendy Murphy of Owasso and Corki Damron of Fairfax; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and granddaughter, Tracie Stone-Salazone.

Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Fairfax Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax. Betty's online guestbook may be signed at www.hunsakerwootenfuneralhome.com
