Annabeth Murray

Annabeth (Jackson) Murray passed away on August 20, 2017, at age 79, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Murray is lying in state at the Murray residence until midnight Tuesday, August 22, 2017 for those who wish to pay their respects to her and the family.
She was born to Donald William and Annabeth "Bess" (Muller) Jackson on April 1, 1938. Annabeth attended Fairfax Schools graduating with the Red Devil class of 1956. After high school, she earned her B.S. degree at O.S.U. in 1963 and the following year became a licensed C.P.A.
On November 25, 1967 she married the love of her life, Francis Michael "Mike" Murray, at Shidler, OK. She gained two wonderful children with the marriage, Manon and Patrick.
Annabeth worked several jobs throughout the years and enjoyed every one of them which included: File Clerk at the Jackson Insurance Agency; Soda Jerk at the McDonald Drug; Secretary, Barney & Pain, Attorneys at Law; Typist, Stinnett Abstract; Accounting Clerk at O.S.U.; Junior Account at Shell Oil; Management Trainee to Manager, Financial Administrator Sunray DX/Sun Oil Co.; and her best-loved work of all was serving her community as Administrator at Fairfax Memorial Hospital from August 1989 until retiring in 1999. Later, she returned to the Hospital, helping out as Administrator for a brief time.
She belonged to the Fairfax Study Club, serving the organization in all committees. Annabeth enjoyed reading; working with Mike in their vegetable gardens; taking care of the animals as she had a great love for her cattle, cats, and especially her dogs; spending time with family and friends; and dining at the Ralston Cafe with friend Nancy Keil the past few years.
Survivors include children, Manon and (Chuck) Tillman of rural Fairfax, Patrick and (Julie) Murray of Howe, TX; four grandchildren: Chanlie, Joseph, Amber and Taylor; one great-grandson, Marshall; brother, Elliott and (Martha) Jackson of Arkansas City, KS; several other extended family and friends as well as life-long dear friends, Dolores Barnett, Nancy Keil and Roberta Pennington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and in August, 2013 her husband, Mike Murray.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Fairfax City Cemetery with Rev. Lewis Bernard, presiding. Burial will follow under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Brad Jackson, Will Jackson, Buddy Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Chris Keil, and Kojack Holloway,
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Annabeth's memory be made to the Fairfax Study Club, in care of Howardean Rhoads, 161 N 4th Street or Fairfax Community Hospital, 40 Hospital Road, both in Fairfax OK 74637.
